No leftovers with this.
Good Morning to Everyone out there! I hope that this post reaches everyone who reads this in happy spirits. Or if not, perhaps a nice recipe for Cheeseburger Pie is in order.
Sometimes, I have to admit, I get a little depressed. I mean all a person has to do these days is just watch or listen to the news and find one hundred reasons to be depressed.
It tends to eat at a person hearing about shootings and political issues that never gets resolved.
Sometimes the best thing a person can do is turn everything off and get out my Kitchen Aide mixer and do some cooking or baking.
I could be in the worst mood but when I start frying up something or making a pot of chili, it brings a comfort to the soul that is greatly needed.
Here today, I will show you my recipe for cheeseburger pie. I have a recipe in an old cookbook that sounded good, but then I went on Pinterest to find variations of this recipe. I change it up a bit for the way we like we like it. What a hit! Even my picky eater had a clean plate.
Now, this is a recipe that one could choose to add what they want to the mix. One could add an onion and/or garlic and some peppers to that hamburger meat if so desired. However, for me and my family, we don’t care for onions or peppers. So, I just brown up the hamburger and add Worcestershire sauce and a little smoke flavor and maybe a shot of Ketchup and Mustard. I know, that is not exactly gourmet for a lot of folks but in my house, it goes over quite well.
So, Step 1: Brown the ground beef or you can use ground turkey. Season to your liking.
Step 2: Poor browned hamburger in a pie pan.
Step 3: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top
Step 4: Mix together ½ Cup Bisquick, two eggs and 1 Cup of Milk. Pour mixture over the top of the beef mixture
Step 5: Add layer of cheese if desired.
Step 6: Bake at 400 F for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
I hope this inspires someone out there to give this a try. It’s a hit in my house. Enjoy!
